As a specialized relationship therapist, I have extensive experience and training in working with couples in intimate relationships.
I also have experience and comfort in working with couples when there is a complex trauma history for one or both of the individuals in the partnership. I often utilize an Emotion-Focused Model of therapy when working with couples, but as all situations are unique, I draw upon my experience and training as applicable for each unique situation.
Common reasons couples seek therapy include:
-
Feeling disconnected from each other
-
Communication difficulties and/or difficulty resolving conflict
-
Differences in sexual desire or need for intimacy
-
Feeling the impact of major life transitions (e.g., transition to parenthood, children leaving home, aging parents)
