What are your hours of operation?
Monday to Thursday 9:30am-5pm.
What types of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, personal cheque, or e-transfer.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
48 hours notice is required for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed appointments will be charged the full session fee. If there are extenuating circumstances, please let me know.
Are you covered by my insurance?
Insurance Coverage and Billing: Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) does not cover the cost of the services of a therapist in private practice. However, some people learn that part of their fees is covered by their private health insurance coverage (such as SunLife or Westlife). I recommend that you contact your insurance provider before making an appointment to find out what services are covered. Please note that direct billing is not available, but I will give you a receipt to submit to your insurance company.
Some insurance companies cover my services (“RMFT”, or “Registered Marriage and Family Therapist”; or “RP” “Registered Psychotherapist), and others do not; please be sure to call your insurance company directly and ask about your specific coverage.
Questions to ask your insurance provider:
1. Does my insurance plan cover counseling services provided by a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) or a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with a Ph.D.?
2. Do I need a referral from a physician to qualify for coverage?
3. What percentage of the fee does the plan cover? Is there a maximum per year? Per person?
4. How do I get reimbursed?
Do you do psychological or psycho-educational assessments?
No, I do not. If you are seeking a psychological or psycho-educational assessment, please visit http://www.cpo.on.ca/ to find a registered Psychologist or Psychological Associate in your area.
Is your office accessible?
Unfortunately, my office is not accessible; there are 10 stairs to navigate into my office. If this is a barrier for you, please contact me to discuss alternate solutions.
